Continuing Education Units

Participants attending Institute for Educational Development seminars have the opportunity to earn state-approved continuing education credits in most states where such programs exist. Any required registration for CEUs is conducted at the seminar site. Unless otherwise noted, your Certificate of Participation will act as verification of attendance.

• ILLINOIS:
  Each participant is eligible to earn 5.0 IL CPDUs. In order to earn the credit, it is necessary to attend the entire program and do the following:
  
  1. Verify your attendance by signing the Attendance Verification Roster at the beginning and the end of the seminar.
  2. Complete the Evaluation Form you will receive at the registration desk and return it to the Program Manager in the afternoon.
  3. Complete the Evidence of Completion Form you will receive at the registration desk and retain it in your portfolio for submission at the time of applying for the CPDUs.
  4. At the time of presenting your paperwork for your CPDUs, you will be required to present a copy of the brochure.

• MICHIGAN:
  Participant must sign in and out on the MI State Board CEU (SB-CEU) roster to be eligible for .5 credits for a one-day seminar.
  For two-day programs, participants are eligible for 5 hours per day and must sign in and out on the MI SB-CEU roster and complete a verification form.
  Madonna University requires check payment on site of $15 for 1-day seminars or 2-day programs, check made out to Madonna University, no cash or credit cards accepted. No late payments accepted.
  MI SB-CEUs also available in Appleton, WI, Toledo, OH, and Fort Wayne, IN.
• MINNESOTA:
  Five (5) MN Department of Education Clock Hours available per day of seminar attendance.
• MISSISSIPPI:
  0.5 MS Continuing Education Units available per day of seminar attendance. Participant must submit a "Mississippi College Application for CEU" form with a check for $5 per day of attendance made out to Mississippi College to be handed in at the site.
  MS Continuing Education Units also available in Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, and Montgomery, AL; New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA; and Memphis, TN.

• PENNSYLVANIA:
  BER is now an Approved Provider of Act 48 Continuing Professional Education hours (CPE). Pennsylvania educators can earn 5 Act 48 hours at our one-day seminars and up to 10 hours at our two-day conferences. They must register on the Act 48 roster at the seminar/conference. They will receive an official letter denoting number of hours earned within 30 days of the seminar. BER will submit a roster of names and hours to the PDE website.
• RHODE ISLAND:
  Five (5) contact hours are available per day of attendance. Rhode Island In-Service Credit Report forms are available at the seminar.

• SOUTH DAKOTA:
  Each seminar participant will receive a personalized certificate of participation verifying (5) Contact Hours. This certificate may be counted towards the accumulation of fifteen (15) Contact Hours for (1) SD Renewal Credit. Once a participant collects a total of fifteen (15) Contact Hours, he/she will need to send copies of the certificates to the South Dakota Association of Elementary School Principals (SDAESP) for the issuance of one (1) SD Renewal Credit.
