Mark Weakland is an outstanding educator and national presenter. An experienced special education teacher and reading specialist, he has worked extensively with children diagnosed with dyslexia or thought to be dyslexic. As a reading consultant and instructional coach, Mark understands the realities and challenges that teachers face as they strive to help children with reading impairments. He is passionate about helping struggling learners and students with disabilities reach high levels of learning, as well as equipping their teachers with cutting-edge, highly effective literacy practices.

Mark is the author of, DYSLEXIA: Help Children Who Struggle to Successfully Read, Write and Spell, the extensive resource handbook each participant will receive at the seminar. The author of more than 60 books for children, Mark has also written four teacher resource books, including two that specifically address ways to help struggling readers and spellers: Super Spellers (Stenhouse, 2017) and Super Spellers Starter Sets (Stenhouse, 2019).

Mark’s seminars are practical, inspiring, and filled with strategies, activities and teaching techniques you can use immediately to help students with dyslexia and ALL students become better readers, writers and spellers.
