A Message from Your Seminar Leader
Dear Colleague:
Third Graders. What comes to mind when you hear that? Maybe you are relatively new to teaching Third Grade. Or maybe you are a veteran Third Grade teacher, hoping to get energized by spending the day exchanging ideas with an experienced colleague and enthusiastic peers. We would probably all agree that the landscape of teaching Third Grade has changed, and we are all trying our very best to stay ahead of these amazing eight- and nine-year-olds and provide the education they need and deserve. We might tell the curious and excited new Third Grade teachers that they are in for a wonderful experience, because Third Grade is a uniquely transformational year for our students.
Somewhere during grade three, our students seem to mysteriously shed their identify as a primary student and take on the characteristics of intermediate level learners. This brings specific rewards and challenges, some of which can catch us off guard. Additionally, there are physical, cognitive, and social emotional milestones that occur during this critical school year. On top of all that, we see a rigorous increase in expectations and stamina for testing, productivity, thinking, and producing quality work more independently. In this one-day seminar designed just for Third Grade teachers, we will dive into the changes and challenges, and I will share with you the tried-and-true wisdom, strategies, and solutions I learned from teaching Third Grade over the years.
As Third Grade teachers, we strive to provide engaging, meaningful lessons that will challenge students at all levels of learning. The strategies and practices shared in this seminar will help us all do just that! All the strategies and tools I will share are classroom tested and highly practical. You will leave with an array of ideas and activities you can use in your Third Grade classroom the very next day. I am looking forward to spending the day with you at this new one-day seminar designed specifically for YOU!
Sincerely,
Deb Wirth
P.S. You will also receive the extensive digital resource handbook I wrote specifically for this GRADE THREE seminar that is filled with the ideas and strategies shared and discussed during our day together.
