A Message from Your Seminar Leader
Dear Colleague:
Each year we are expected to do more and do it even better, while many of our kindergartners come to us with greater needs and less support. It can be easy to lose your enthusiasm and get overwhelmed with all the time demands placed on you, both in and out of the classroom. It is no secret that developing stronger social emotional skills in all our students leads to greater learning. But how do we do that when we are already overloaded? Join me for a day of learning to see how easily we can strengthen our students’ resolve and create a more positive learning environment for all. Creating a strong, loving classroom community is at the heart of my practice and I can’t wait to share dozens of ideas with you!
It is my goal that you’ll leave refreshed, inspired, and hopeful. I’ll share new ideas and strategies to strengthen the relationships critical not only to student success, but the joy of your kindergartners and, yes, you! We will look at ways to create a classroom community filled with positivity and students who are ready to tackle even the most challenging obstacles. I will also share my timetested and proven techniques for setting up an inviting classroom, teaching routines and procedures, and being proactive with behaviors. Of course, we’ll also look at ways to tackle those challenging behaviors that might occur regardless of how preemptive we are.
Above all else, we’re going to have fun learning together. I will share with you critical strategies and ideas for building a loving classroom community where children feel welcome, safe, and loved – a community that fosters strong academic results. You will leave the day not only with a multitude of strategies and ideas to increase self-awareness, improve self-regulation, and reinforce responsible decision-making. In addition, you will receive an extensive digital resource handbook and access to dozens of online resources designed specifically for the kindergarten classroom.
Sincerely,
Matt Halpern
P.S. I know how busy you are and I promise this day will focus on practical, time-efficient strategies that I know work and you can use in your kindergarten classroom tomorrow!
