A Message from Your Seminar Leader

Dear Colleague:

I have focused the past five years on successfully helping fellow teachers and colleagues answer the following questions:

  • How do I get all my students to solve challenging math problems when they just want me to do all the work for them?
  • What can I do during my math lessons to engage my entire class when everyone is at different learning stages?
  • How can I shift my math lessons so my students are doing the heavy lifting and learning instead of me?

Like you, I work with real students – who have real gaps in their learning, are at different learning stages and who need both enrichment and intensification. I am excited to share the best of what I’ve found to be successful in the schools I work with. Please join me in this resource and strategy-packed seminar. I want to show you how to build student-centered math environments where ALL students make strong growth, engage in worthwhile tasks, successfully interact through productive struggle, connect mathematical topics to their world, and become mathematically proficient.

My ultimate goal is to inspire, educate and empower you to greatly enhance your instruction and your students’ success in math – no matter what curriculum you use. Knowing what research says about effective math instruction is one thing, but often we may not know what that actually looks like in real classrooms with a range of diverse learners. I want to show you in very practical terms how you can create and use Math Tasks that are accessible enough for your struggling students, yet simultaneously challenging for your most advanced students. I will provide you with everything you need to greatly enhance your current program and increase your students’ reasoning, problem solving and success in math.

I am genuinely excited to share my knowledge and resources to help you transform and inspire your students as mathematicians. Come and enjoy a productive day, learning how to create and use Math Tasks to maximize your students’ problem solving and math skills.

Ryan Doetch

P.S. I want a former student to return one day and say you were the reason why they were inspired and became successful in math.
