A Message from Your Seminar Leader

Dear Colleague:

Like most educators, you probably are working harder than ever, yet still not reaching the results you hope for with all your students. We often acutely feel the pressure of trying to do more with less while trying to help all our students be successful, despite today’s many obstacles and challenges. We know many of our students will take jobs that haven’t even been created yet. How can we provide the best possible learning experience for our students without working 24 hours a day?

As a fellow educator, I knew that I couldn’t possibly teach the same lesson to all of my students and hope for positive results. Like yours, my students came with varying levels of academic proficiency and their learning needs were vastly different. I found that when I personalized lessons, my students’ academic proficiency increased rapidly. Moreover, the behavior in my classroom improved dramatically. I discovered that when my students pursued topics and goals of interest against a backdrop of standards, they were simply too busy learning to get distracted by negative behaviors. My office referral rate went down to zero. I was happy, my students were happy, and my colleagues wanted to know what was happening in my classroom!

I believe a major solution to today’s educational challenges is Personalized Learning. By getting to know students and what makes them tick as learners in a new way, by offering customized learning paths to help them be more successful, and by utilizing authentic assessments, educators can help students create their best possible futures.

It has been my great pleasure to have worked with thousands of teachers and leaders around the country on implementing Personalized Learning in their classrooms, schools and districts. I hope you will join me in this engaging, results-oriented seminar to discover how you can make the most of Personalized Learning in your unique setting.
