Common Questions

What time do your programs begin and end?

Our In-Person Seminars start at 8:30am and conclude at 3:15pm. Check-in begins at 8:00am.
Our Live Online Seminars start at 9:00am and conclude at 3:30pm in the time zone indicated. Check-in 15 minutes prior. Access information will be sent by email five days before the seminar.

Can I earn credit for attending IED Seminars?

Is there a deadline to enroll for one of your seminars?

IED accepts seminar registrations until our classes fill to capacity. To ensure your space in one of our seminars, we encourage you to enroll as soon as possible. Payment or a purchase order is required by the seminar date. For in-person seminars, registrants will also receive a printed copy of the resource handbook if their registration is received in the IED office at least 15 calendar days before the event.

How may I cancel my registration?

100% of your paid registration fee will be refunded if you can't attend and notify us at least 10 days before the seminar. Late cancellations made prior to the seminar date will be refunded less a $15 service fee. Substitutions may be made any time without charge.

What is a Live Online Event?

IED Live Online Seminars are the same high-quality PD you've enjoy with IED, presented online using Zoom. You'll join our outstanding instructors LIVE on Zoom for a highly interactive PD event. You'll be able to ask questions and collaborate with other educators from around the country. You'll receive an extensive digital resource handbook, filled with helpful resources. By participating in a Live Online Event, you'll receive a personalized Certificate of Completion and be eligible for State CEUs or University Credit.

How do I access my IED Live Online Event?

Registrants will receive an email with access instructions four to five days prior to the event. This email will be sent to the email address you registered with. If your class is scheduled to start this morning, please give us a call after 5:30 am Pacific time: 1-800-735-3503.
Otherwise, you can request access to your event by submitting a request

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept payments via check, credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover). Purchase orders are accepted as a promise of payment and invoices will be sent to the proper billing authority listed on valid purchase orders received. We are unable to accept cash payments.

Do you sell your resource handbook?

Our resource handbooks are not available for retail sale and limited to seminar attendees only.

I forgot to pick-up my certificate at the seminar and I need this for district and/or state requirements. What do I do?

Please send a certificate replacement request to or call us at 1-800-260-8180. Be sure to include your full name, school information and contact information. Certificate requests are processed weekly and please allow 2-3 weeks from the seminar date for attendance to be verified before any certificate can be re-issued.

Do you cancel your seminars due to adverse weather?

Unfortunately, we sometimes cancel events if our instructor is unable to travel to the event site due to inclement weather or last-minute travel problems. If schools in your area are closed due to inclement weather, please check for inclement weather cancellations the morning of the event before you leave home to confirm whether or not the event will be held.

Do you ever offer your seminars at specific schools or districts?

The Institute for Educational Development does not sponsor staff development trainings at specific schools or districts.

What do I do if I have a specific ADA request?
